Cynthia Cook, PhD
Dr. Cook is a licensed Psychologist specializing in work with adults, couples, and groups. She is an honors graduate from Kansas State University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
Dr. Cook has trained at a variety of well respected institutions, including the Counseling Center at Southern Illinois and Texas A&M Universities, military settings, and community mental health centers. She has worked at the counseling center at the University of Houston-Clear Lake for over twelve years. Her training has equipped her with the skills to address a variety of psychological concerns.
Special interest areas of Dr. Cook include couples counseling and relationship issues, women’s issues, spirituality, managing anxiety, multicultural counseling, and vocational counseling. She works collaboratively with her patients to understand them and help them gain a greater understanding of themselves. Dr. Cook is warm and caring, and utilizes a variety of approaches in helping patients facilitate growth and change in their lives.
