Lela Pickett, PhD

Dr. Lela Pickett strongly believes that the core of her work is cultivating a safe and collaborative space for her clients. She has expertise in trauma work, multicultural counseling, anxiety, depression, identity development, LGBTQ+, and relationships primarily working with adults 18 years and older. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University, earned her M.S. from University of Kentucky, and graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Cleveland State University. She completed her doctoral internship at the University of Cincinnati Counseling and Psychological Services.

The coping skills that Dr. Lela recommends to clients are skills that she uses even for herself. These skills include progressive muscle relaxation before bed, deep breathing exercises, guided imagery, maintaining to-do lists, and 5 senses grounding technique.

In her free time, Dr. Lela enjoys hiking, spending time with her friends and family, trying new foods, and going to see live music.
